GENESIS II DEVICE
SEE ALSO: CAROL MARCUS
An experimental torpedo employing a protomatter-regulated fusion explosive to create a dissociative-field wave with the ability to reorganize the resulting subatomic particles according to a preprogrammed matrix. The device was designed and built by a science team led by Carol Marcus in 2286. The prototype Genesis Torpedo was stolen by Khan Noonien Singh later that year, who detonated it at the Mutura Nebula, resulting in the creation of what has become known as the Genesis Planet. The use of this technology was prohibited by the Federation Council after it was revealed that a team member, Dr. David Marcus, used protomatter in the Genesis Matrix, a blatant violation of Federation regulations and interstellar treaty.
