Shuttle to Kenfori è un episodio della terza stagione di Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

L'infezione Gorn nel corpo del capitano Batel si ravviva, e l'equipaggio dell'Enterprise deve recuperare una cura sperimentale in un laboratorio di ricerca abbandonato e devastato dalla Guerra Klingon-Federale del 2256.

  • Pike scopre la verità su quanto successo nella collutazione tra Joseph M’Benga e Dak'Rah in Under the Cloak of War
  • Erica Ortegas riceve una reprimenda per aver disobbedito a un ordine diretto e messo a repentaglio l'equipaggio con la scusa di un errore. Viene anche estromessa dal servizio attivo per due settimane.

  • È possibile che ci siano altri fattori, ma sembra strano che se per percorrere la tratta dalle vicinanze della nave Klingon al pianeta ci vogliono 4 ore a un settimo di impulso, ce ne vogliano 6 a un ottavo: in cinematica classica la proporzionalità inversa tra tempo e velocità a parità di spazio non torna, e in cinematica relativistica le frazioni di c considerate non sono sufficienti a giustificare una differenza del genere rispetto alla proporzione.
  • Il titolo dell'episodio è un omaggio al film sudcoreano "Train to Busan" del 2016 che tratta di una apocalisse zombie nel paese asiatico. Il nome del pianeta "Kenfori" è un riferimento all'attore Ken Foree, protagonista del film "Dawn of the Dead".
  • Il messaggio di avvertimento klingon che viene visualizzato sul monitor nel teaser è la frase in inglese "go back or die" scritta usando caratteri klingon.

  • Il fenomeno che si verifica poi essere una nave Klingon che cerca di nascondersi viene rilevato nella sezione 8, mark 15-29-4 (5-1=4, 9-2=7) della scansione.
  • Per non farsi rilevare dagli stessi Klingon, si opta per procedere verso il pianeta ad un settimo di impulso. Se la frazione è riferita alla massima velocità sub-luce usuale (un quarto di c), allora l'Enterprise viaggia a c/(4·7) = c/28.
  • Sempre a proposito di tale andatura (1/7 di impulso), viene affermato che con essa ci vorranno 4 ore per raggiungere il pianeta.

  • Gli scienziati che sono diventati zombie ricordano un po' i Vulcaniani della Seleya visti in Impulse, con la differenza che nell'episodio di Star Trek: Enterprise il trellio-D aveva agito come una neurotossina compromettendo irrimediabilmente i percorsi sinaptici utilizzati dalla specie per controllare le emozioni, mentre in questo è avvenuta una parziale riscrittura del codice genetico.

Ortegas: You were gonna leave Pike and M'Benga stranded for six hours. We all know the Klingons don't take prisoners.
